On 26.03.2016 at 9:00 am in classroom 216 Burgas Free University brought together young enthusiasts outstanding high school students of Burgas and the region to participate in the Second Regional Olympiad in Informatics initiated and organized by the Chance for Children of Bulgaria Foundation with the support and active participation of the Center for Economic and Technical Sciences of Bourgas free University who responded to the call of the Foundation. The event was opened by the Dean of CETS Prof. Dr. Radostin Dolchinkov, attended by Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and accreditation Assoc. Prof. Kamen Seymenliyski, vice dean for research and international cooperation Prof. Dr. Daniela Orozova, Mrs. Irina Mikhailova organizational secretary and a representative of the Chance for the children of Bulgaria Foundation.
For the second consecutive year the Olympiad aims to stimulate the interest of young people to new technologies - the most dynamically developing sector of Bulgarian economy.
In addition to the projects participants in new technology from the Center for young talents at the Foundation in the competition took part also students from PMG Akad. Obreshkov and from language schools, from specialized high schools, from GCHE Vasil Levski, from high school Cyril and Methodius and others.
The main goal of such events is for young people to exchange information on achievements and lessons learned in the particular field and show how important it is for modern education and prosperity of our country, because it offers opportunities for growth, jobs and new attitude towards curricula of the secondary and higher education, their interaction and interdependence.
Results will be announced on the website of the Foundation on 26.04.2016 and the official awarding of winners will take place on May 20, 2016 in Bourgas.
