For the first time, the Center for Young Talents (CYT) is organizing a regional competition for children's poetry on "I - the Child of the Sea". And the news is that the chairman of the jury will not be anyone else, but the great Bulgarian poet and playwright from Burgas - Nedyalko Yordanov.
Nedyalko Yordanov was the winner of the Golden Orpheus Award for overall creativity in 1997, and is the author of numerous poems, plays and a novel in poems for children and adolescents, known and loved by many generations of Burgas people.
The poems will also be judged by the famous poet Rosa Boyanova, vice-president of the Bulgarian Writer Society in Burgas and deputy editor-in-chief of the Autograph newspaper. Author of nearly 20 books with children's creativity from all over the country. Her poems have been translated into Russian, Macedonian, French, English and other languages; Vanya Zheleva - Master of Science in Bulgarian Language and Literature, participant in a two-year project of the Ministry of Education and Science for working with talented students and a long-time teacher at the Center for Young Talents, as well as Nadezhda Dineva - journalist, writer, author of the acclaimed novel "The Order of the Scorpions" and leader of the newest creative project for small writers "My First Stories" for children from 7 to 12 years old at the CYT.
The purpose of the competition is to discover, promote and support the development of children's talents in the field of literature and to provide them with an opportunity for creative expression. The event is part of the initiative of the only center for working with talented children in the city, in support and improvement of the gifts of young people. The poem writing contest is for children from 7 to 12 years old, divided into 3 age groups.
"We have been supporting and developing our country's greatest potential for the talents of our children for ten years now. Our most recent poetry competition is part of our efforts to stimulate children's imagination and encourage the interest of the youngest for poetry and to discover the gifts of the participants at an early age. The finalists will be announced on December 6, 2019. on the organizers website, and the award will be held in the Acting Room of the Center for Talented Children at the celebration of the ninth anniversary of its creation. There is a prize pool for the finalists from the three age groups. The organizers urge all small writers not to worry, but to boldly let their imagination run wild.
