National Green Reading Campaign Launches

Books by Bulgarian authors will find their readers in parks and gardens in the major cities of the country. This will happen during a national Green Reading campaign under the motto "Books find us on their own". It starts on May 27 and will last until June 26. Everyone who has acquired a new reading must take a photo and post it on social networks with #knigodar. Anyone who wants to become a campaign ambassador can do so by leaving their book in the same places where the other books can be found.

The engine of the campaign is the young writer and author of the "Order of the Scorpions" Nadezhda Dineva. The campaign will cover the cities of Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven and Blagoevgrad. The main goals of the campaign are to promote reading in public places and to serve as an example for teenagers, as well as the creativity of young Bulgarian authors to reach more people. "The initiative aims to surprise, inspire and connect us through good. That is why the "chosen ones" of the books must give their book gift to someone else after reading it," the author explains. As part of the campaign, a literary reading of excerpts from the participating books will be held.

In the capital, the books will be left in person by the authors participating in the Green Reading, and volunteers will help in other cities. "For the organization I relied on many people who have merits for the whole campaign to develop quickly and successfully, special thanks to the co-organizers of the initiative Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria foundation and TianDe Beautiful and Happy Boutique, who financially supported the cause", shares Dineva.

"We have been working for the last ten years for the development and support of young Bulgarian talents, we find and support young authors, we have behind us a wide range of successfully implemented campaigns in support of reading. We are especially happy that this initiative is based on our talent, realized by a young author Nadezhda Dineva and a former graduate of our Center for Young Talents in Burgas. There is nothing more valuable than seeing your mission passed down through the generations and having the chance to come true side by side with your children. We thank Nadia for the invitation and we are convinced that "Green Reading" will leave a lasting impression among readers! ", Said Liliana Slavova, President of the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation.

At the moment, 10 Bulgarian authors have joined the Green Reading free of charge with their works. There are also 2 collections with the best works of Bulgarian youth from the last two editions of the national competition "And children conquer worlds! Show that you can!". The collection "Story in 10 sentences" was published only a few days ago and its readers will be able to touch the talent of young Bulgarians debuting with their works.
