The successful first edition of the regional competition for children's poetry "I am the child of the sea" with chairman of the jury Nedyalko Yordanov provoked the Center for Talents in Burgas to include in its new curriculum - a children's poetry workshop.
To increase the literacy of children, to create rhyming texts, to ignite children's interest in literature, to teach them to present themselves to an audience are some of the goals of the new creative project.
"The great interest in our competition for children's poetry persuaded us not to stop there, but to continue to develop the potential and talent of young people in Burgas in writing poetry. We found so many talented young artists and so spontaneously the idea to create a workshop for poetry was born. We are happy that the young poet Yana Valcheva accepted the invitation to join our team. We are convinced that with her help we will be able to inspire and support children from an early age to the successful path of creative writing," said Liliana Slavova, Chairwoman of the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation and founder of the Center for Talents in Burgas.
"Poetic talent is above all a special worldview and love for words. In a creative atmosphere we will open a door to an emotional world. Children's talent needs only an opportunity for development and a pinch of love," said the Burgas poet and head of. the workshop - Yana Valcheva.
Children between 8 and 12 years of age can join the verse workshop, as the only condition is to love the Bulgarian language and literature. There are also many opportunities for the expression of young poetic talents.

Yana Valcheva is 39 years old, lives and works in her favorite Burgas. She is the author of three collections of poems and two children's books. She is a member of the Burgas Writers' Community. She is the initiator of the project "With the Voice of Burgas" at the Municipality of Burgas - videos of poems by favorite Burgas poets, performed by popular and beloved citizens of Burgas. Co-founder, together with Elka Stoyanova of "Stage for books and people". She was in the jury in the author's poetry "ReadMe" and in the competition for children's creativity "Create a book with BNR Burgas". Songs based on her verses were performed by Galya Icherenska, Silvia Koleva, Jean Sheitanov.
