Awards 2017

The success of our children deserves special attention, apart from the talent, they are also due to a lot of work and effort made during the year. With the individual awards we want to encourage and support the young talents of Bulgaria. We want them to be proud of their achievements and to highlight their success in a certain area as a victory that deserves special attention. Our goal is to stimulate not only the work on talent itself but also the performance. Therefore, the "Awards, Scholarships and Prizes" Project rewards not only the talented, but also the emerging children - those who, in addition to improving their talents, prove them in competitions with others. Talent, work, appearances, achievements, sustainable development and compliance are our main criteria for evaluation. We congratulate not only the ranked finalists, but all the others who turned to us and shared their success, continue to work hard and the results will not be late. We wish many new successes to all the children of Bulgaria!

Chavdar Lalov

Chavdar Tsvetanov Lalov, 10th grade, "Geo Milev" High School of Mathematics, Pleven

Cash prize for an innovative project in the field of mathematics.

Project "Structure of non-intersecting routes and the connecting constant" - the project is studying the so called Non-intersecting routes; Roads on a square net that do not self-intersect. The main issue that is being considered is how many such paths of a certain length may exist. This is a 75-year task that has not yet been fully resolved. A simplified version of this problem has been dealt with in the work, with a similar lower and upper limit for the number of routes being found. Also presented is a transformation of non-spontaneous routes, which helps better describe them mathematically. Non-intersecting routes have multiple applications - they serve to model linear polymers, optimize computer algorithms, and help find the capacity of telecommunication networks.
