  • Young Bulgarian writers from all over the world meet in the new book "A Story in 10 Sentences"

More than 220 young Bulgarians from all over the world took part in the VII National Literary Competition on "A Story in 10 Sentences", organized by the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. The best 103 works selected by the Foundation's team and awarded by a five-member jury, including famous writers, journalists and literary critics, are included in the book-collection "A Story in 10 Sentences".

"During a pandemic, it is impossible for young people to gather in one place, and even more so if they are from different parts of the world. We are happy that with our third book we manage to do it. In the collection of short stories Bulgarian youth from different countries and continents meet to tell only in 10 sentences, about their experiences, thoughts, feelings, hopes... These are 103 stories in which joy and sadness, love and contempt, irony and despair, hopes and desires are intertwined. In a time of limited physical freedom, the works amaze with the infinite space of imagination, thoughts and dreams of their authors. I am sure that the book will become a literary event, as the stories are written in a surprisingly mature artistic style, carry a great emotional charge, and their messages touch the heart and soul. The most valuable quality of these stories is the casual children's story, revealing in a unique way the worldview of young artists, "said Liliana Slavova, chairwoman of the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation.

"The 10-Sentence Story collection promises a future for the language, a future for the people who speak it, a future for the country inhabited by those people. These are certainly stories by young artists who already know how to touch different nerve endings." , commented on the occasion of the premiere of the book the chairman of the jury Mitko Novkov.

The cover of the book is once again the work of the talented Burgas artist Elena Mazneva, a graduate of the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation and the Center for Young Talents.
The best narrators are the masters of the short form. This collection of short stories is a wonderful opportunity to discover them among young talented debutants.
